Deadlines are easier to manage when they are not treated as isolated dates. A good calendar shows the work that leads up to each submission.
Work backwards from the due date
For each recurring report, note the submission date, the internal review date, and the date by which source documents should be complete. Add one owner for each step. This is more useful than a single reminder that says “tax due.”
Leave room for questions
A report can be technically on time and still feel stressful if there was no space to resolve an unclear transaction. Build a small review window into the rhythm. It gives the team a clear point to raise questions before the deadline becomes urgent.
The best calendar is not the most detailed one. It is the one that helps everyone know what happens next.
